QUILT SIZING
T-SHIRT QUILTS: Every quilt I make is custom, based on the customer's materials, so I don't have set sizes. I strive to create "large throws," usually in the 50"- 65"x60"-80" range. My customers appreciate the versatility of this size. I aim to create a reasonable sized quilt to enjoy cuddled on the coach, or as a throw that could easily be taken along for an adventure and used as a picnic blanket. That said, if you have specific size requirements, I am willing discuss how to meet your needs.
MEMORY AND PATTERNED QUILTS: For Memory Quilts, or Patterned Quilts made with quilting cotton I work with the customer to choose an existing pattern to base the design on. While the size can be adjusted, the pattern usually provides guidance on the quilt size.

DESIGN CHOICES
The level of customization I offer is what really sets my quilts apart. Each custom quilt I create is designed entirely with the customer in mind. You will choose the coordinating fabrics and backing for your quilt, as well as the type of batting used inside depending how you want the quilt to feel. When the top is complete, I'll suggest quilting patterns that will best enhance the design, or you can choose a quilting pattern.
I meet with local customers in my workshop north of Charlotte in Huntersville, NC and coordinate through text and FaceTime with out of town customers. During our design meeting we'll look through fabric swatches and you'll share each piece you'd like to include in your quilt. I'll suggest patterns and colors that will make your materials really pop. All the fabrics I use for your quilt will be purchased for your project, so the sky's the limit.
MATERIAL PREPARATION
There is a lot of work that goes into custom quilts that can't be seen on the outside. For T-Shirt and some Memory Quilts I attach a 100% cotton woven interfacing to the back of each item to be used in the quilt. This ensures it will be strong and long lasting far beyond the normal wear and tear of a regular knit or woven T-shirt. Before bringing materials to me they must be freshly washed with NO FABRIC SOFTENER. If this has not been done the interfacing may not adhere properly.
There are some instances where memory materials cannot be machine washed. If this is the case, the customer assumes responsibility for the care of the completed quilt.
TIMELINE, PAYMENT & SHIPPING
The current time to complete a custom quilt is between 8-12 weeks from the point that I have your materials and the first half of the payment. Note: This timeline can vary around busy seasons like Christmas and graduation, If you have a deadline you're working with please let me know.
I require $100 Calendar Hold Deposit to reserve space on my calendar. This is required prior to scheduling a design meeting or dropping off materials. This amount will be applied to the full deposit required to begin your project.
I require half of the anticipated cost to begin the project, I use this non-refundable payment to pay for the materials used in your project.
Once the quilt is complete, I’ll send a final invoice and collect the second half of the payment when arranging for pick up, or shipment of your quilt.
If shipping is required, you are responsible for the shipping of your materials to me. I encourage you to insure this, as your items are irreplaceable. I will include the cost of return shipping in your final payment.
I accept all major credit cards through Quickbooks as well as Venmo and Zelle.
Deposits and completed quilts are non-refundable, as they are all custom work.

T-Shirt Quilt customers gather your materials and do a count of how many items you'd like to include in your quilt. Remember to count each item separately if you plan to use multiple parts (ex: back and front of a shirt will be 2 blocks)

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER SUBMITTING A REQUEST
Once you submit a quilt request form I'll text (or email if preferred) confirming I got your request. Ideally this will be within 48 hours, but can fluctuate during particularly busy seasons (Christmas/Graduation).
For T-Shirt Quilts I will send you an estimate for the anticipated price of your custom quilt based on the information you provide in your quilt request form. Included in this estimate will be a request for $100 Calendar Hold Deposit. Once this is submitted I'll reach out through text or email to schedule our in-person design meeting at my Huntersville workshop. You'll bring your freshly washed items to this meeting. We'll go through them to confirm what you'd like to include and make design choices for your quilt. This meeting usually takes about an hour. Once the final number of items are determined, as well as any upgrades, I'll confirm the final estimate and require the remaining 50% of the total to begin your project.
For Memory and T-Shirt Pillows I will send you an estimate for the anticipated price of your quilted gift based on the information you provide in your request form. Included in this estimate will be a request for $100 Calendar Hold Deposit. Once this is submitted I'll reach out through text or email to schedule our in-person design meeting at my Huntersville workshop. You'll bring your freshly washed items to this meeting. We'll select coordinating fabrics and determine design details. This meeting usually takes about an hour. For single pillows the Calendar Hold Deposit is often around half of the anticipated total, for larger projects or multiple pillows a 50% deposit for materials may be needed to begin the project.
For Memory and Patterned Quilts I will send a request for $100 Calendar Hold Deposit to begin the process. With this type of quilt the pattern chosen greatly affects pricing, so it's not possible to provide an estimate prior to knowing more about the project. (Note: If the customer knows the pattern from the beginning I can provide an accurate estimate for the project on the front end). In most cases customers that aren't quilters need guidance with pattern selection. After collecting the Calendar Hold Deposit I work with the customer, ideally through text prior to our in-person meeting, to learn their style and recommend patterns that will work with their materials. Once a pattern has been decided, a more accurate estimate can be provided. We'll meet in person to bring your materials and determine design details. To begin the project 50% of the anticipated total will be required as a deposit.
